I love to swim

In general, I hate exercise. I like walking well enough, but aside from that, the gym just does not interest me at all. but I *love* to swim.

I might not be the fastest swimmer in the sea, but my stamina is pretty awesome and I have the floating capacity of a polystyrene surfboard. It must be genetic as my Mum and I can virtually sit up and chat in the surf.

Last November, we had a family holiday at the beach and I taught the kids to catch waves on their boogie boards. I love surfing small waves on a boogie board.
But I also love course swimming, yet struggle to get to the pool for a swim very often. So when my neighbours go on holiday and ask me to look after their cat and offer the use of their pool, I jump at the chance. The kids and I had a great time this morning - them practicing their swimming, me just swimming laps or just floating.

Its so peaceful just floating on your back. The water seems to both conduct and muffle sound at the same time. I could fall asleep so easily (and with my superpowers of awesome floating I don't worry about sinking). I fancy that its a very womb-like feeling - floating about in warm water with muffled sound reaching your ears.

Swimming is awesome :)

First post

I have another blog, I confess. Its a place where I mutter on about general stuff that happens in my life - the good, the bad and the ugly.
But sometimes, I just want to shout to the world how great my life is. I just want to talk about the good stuff without the editor in my head taking out bits that are about how much my life rocks (in case it sound like boasting).
I am so happy to be married to a wonderful bloke and have two hysterically funny children. They crack me up.
We live in Australia and have 5 chooks that live with us, as well as being part-owners of the farm my husband grew up on.
My background is in science but I've recently retrained as a teacher (and managed to not only graduate with distinction, but also managed to get the award for highest academic achievement for my course).
I like gardening (I love Australian native plants), cross-stitching, reading, swimming, coffee and good conversation.
I love my kids and husband and my Mum is the most awesome mum in the entire universe.
My life is awesome.
